Cherie is the Project Manager for TigerHawk Consulting and a UTAS Elite Research Scholarship holder (PhD). She has worked for local and state government, for a regional authority, in education at tertiary level, in research at university level and in private enterprise. Cherie has owned an operated two small businesses and has managed federal government initiatives in social inclusion, disability and cultural disadvantage.
Cherie has over eleven years of experience, working in both public and private practice, assisting people with physical and intellectual disabilities and valuing their inclusion in mainstream society. This has involved working hands on with people through to managing facilities and programs at a strategic level.
On top of Cherie's Bachelor of Arts Degree (double majoring in Psychology plus a minor in Sociology) and experience in the field, she has undertaken training in areas such as Autism Spectrum Disorders and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).
Cherie has also completed a number of early childhood development courses focussing on programming ideas and environments. Cherie has a strong understanding of how to develop innovative learning practices and policies which support quality service provision.
Cherie has represented Tasmania in both cricket and basketball and continues to coach and mentor young girls.
