I am the Principal Project Manager and Researcher for TigerHawk Consulting.
I have worked in research and education at tertiary level and for local and state government, a regional authority, NGOs and private enterprise. I have owned and operated two small businesses and managed federal government initiatives in social inclusion, disability and cultural disadvantage. I have delivered community services programs at TasTafe and recently worked as a Practice Development Consultant for Possability (formerly Optia Inc.). My PhD focussed on the aspirations of teenage girls in rural and remote areas. I hold an honorary postition with the University of Tasmania as an Adjunct Researcher.
I have twenty years of experience assisting people with physical and intellectual disabilities and valuing their inclusion in mainstream society. This has involved working hands on with people through to managing facilities and programs at a strategic level. I have undertaken training in areas such as Autism Spectrum Disorders and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). I have also completed a number of early childhood development courses focussing on programming ideas and environments and have a strong understanding of how to develop innovative learning practices and policies which support quality service provision.
My background includes representing Tasmania in both cricket and basketball and I continue to coach and mentor young girls.
